Over the years, there have been quite a few celebrities that have offered their name, dollars, and efforts to the anti seal-hunt cause in varying capacities. These celebrities have tremendous power to be effective activists due to the influence they have over the media and are always sought after by anti-sealing organizations. A list of celebrities that have been involved in seal hunt opposition are: Brigitte Bardot and Franz Weber, (they're back with us in 2005! See press, 2005), Pierce Brosnan, Mick Jagger, John Paul DeJoria, Ed Bagley Jr., Martin Sheen, Dave Foreman, Farley Mowat, Linda Blair, Berkeley Breathed, Richard Dean Anderson, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and most recently in 2006- Paul and Heather McCartney, among others. (See press, 2006.) Harpseals.org is ALWAYS on the lookout for more celebrities or well known people to join in the fight for the seals! If you are one of these people, or know someone who is, please contact us for more information. * If anyone comes across any other stories in the media, please send them to us and we'll post it here! Archive note: For those interested, the reason we make our own pages out of these stories instead of linking directly to the media sites where they are found is that the original articles are often moved (and very difficult to find again) after just a few weeks. By doing it this way, we archive them for future reference. Sorry about the dead links, thats part of the game... |
