As an environmentalist and a compassionate individual, I make my dining choices not only on the basis of the quality of the food and the service, but also on whether the establishment is a good steward of the environment. Shells Seafood restaurants are not currently on the list of restaurants that have joined the boycott of Canadian seafood. I urge you to join this boycott. This boycott is the most effective way that Americans can intervene in the brutal massacre of baby harp seals that takes place each year in Canada. The Canadian fishing industry promotes the seal slaughter, and several thousand fishermen participate in it each year. By boycotting all Canadian seafood, Shells will show Americans that it cares about the plight of these defenseless seals, that it is concerned about the Canadian mismanagement of the ocean ecosystem, and that it is a good corporate citizen. Please do not delay. This massacre must end.
