I have learned that you continue to purchase seafood from Canada. In fact, you continue to purchase large amounts of seafood from Newfoundland and other sealing provinces. I am saddened and disgusted to find this out. There is no excuse for ignoring a boycott that can save the lives of hundreds of thousands of innocent baby seals every year. I urge you to take meaningful action now, and stop purchasing all seafood from Canada. I am aware that you are claiming that you do not purchase seafood from the sealers themselves. This is irrelevant to the boycott. Furthermore, I do not believe that this is even verifiable. The responsible action to take, as a good corporate citizen, is to change your sources of seafood. This is an issue of animal cruelty as well as reckless disregard for the welfare of a species and an ecosystem. I have not, until now, associated Publix with irresponsible corporate behavior. You should be ashamed.
