These rallies were used to:

1) Draw worldwide attention to the CANADIAN SEAFOOD BOYCOTT
2) Circulate our PETITION to the Canadian Government
3) Hand out leaflets, anti-hunt info, etc.
4) Display UNIFIED OPPOSITION to all the heartless Canadian sealers, fishermen, and politicians who support the hunt.


CITIES AND LOCATIONS INVOLVED 2006:
In 2005, we had events in 20 different US cities and over 50 total. This year, the overall turnout was just a little lower based on the fact that we didn't have the full support and efforts of the Humane Society in spreading the word, (for reasons only they know). Nevertheless, activists in a good number of cities still pulled it together for the seals.

Realize: these protests are not over yet -- not until the seal hunt is permanently ended. Find out about ongoing protest here.

We must keep the pressure on the Canadian fishing industry that is behind this massacre. For those of you who keep organizing protests, we'll keep posting them on harpseals.org!
