Dear [Decision Maker]
Message: [Edit below] I have learned that the Canadian Senate is considering allowing a new massacre of grey seals, purportedly for the sake of fish populations. For decades, the Department of Fisheries and Oceans has allowed excessive fishing and destructive fishing, which damages breeding grounds for fish. Historically, populations of seals much larger than those currently seen in Canadian waters have coexisted with abundant fish populations. The main difference today is overfishing. I urge you to stand up to the fishermen and serve the greater good: protect the seals. Protect nature. The science shows that the seal population is stabilizing. Allow nature to take its course, and focus instead on reforming the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. Thank you.
