There are now several groups involved in promoting the second round of Red Lobster demonstrations on July 30th. (and other nearby dates)

The first round of Red Lobster demonstrations, organized and spearheaded by the HSUS, took place on June 25th, 2005. Over 90 different restaurant locations were "targeted" by enthusiastic seal activists and the event was considered a big success in the eyes of most of the demonstrators involved. Although media was hard to come by, the activists handed out thousands of fliers as well as educating thousands of people about the plight of the seals and their connection to the Red Lobster chain of restaurants.

Below is a list of Red Lobster demonstrations that are CONFIRMED for July 30th, (and other events near that date) 2005, along with their respective "leader" contact information. We hope to see this list grow in the next few days as many of the same leaders who participated in a June 25th location contact us and confirm a second round of demos.

Write Corporate Red Lobster a letter
Anyone and everyone is encouraged to write and/ or call the Red Lobster a letter expressing your outrage and concern about their connection to the seal slaughter. (The Red Lobster restaurant chain is owned by The Darden Group. This parent company also owns another large chain of restaurants called the Olive Garden.)

Demonstration SUPPORT materials
Most demo leaders on June 25th came prepared for battle with an arsenal of support materials provided by the HSUS. In addition, the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society provided a few excellent handouts and materials and we at Harpseals.org did our best (with our miniscule budget) to distribute our last remaining leaflets and flyers from our first production run. (We are currently printing a second, improved round of flyers to be available soon.)

 For the July 30th demos, due to less lead time and the fact that HSUS, "ran out of Red Lobster materials", we will have to deal with what we have available to us.

So far, this is what we can suggest:

1) USE the leftovers from your first demo! I can't speak for all leaders, but at the demo I was at, we still had a bunch of flyers and brochures that didn't get handed out and all the posters still had life left in them.

2) USE the resources still available from HARPSEALS.ORG, HSUS and SEA SHEPHERD. See our resource "Toolbox" for downloadable pdf files of posters, brochures, banners, etc. - available to all.

3) GET CREATIVE with making your own posters, flyers, etc. Please see our "How You Can Help Stop the Killing" section as well as our resource "Toolbox" for ideas, templates, and files available to all.
